Sight seeing in BhutanThimphu: The largest city as well as the capital on Bhutan. It is a place where the news meets the olds. As governments headquarter, Thimphu is well developed with shopping malls, fine restaurants and bars, variety of shops, anything you can think of in a capital city.
Paro: Historic city of Paro is famous for its holy monastery Taktsang (Tiger's nest). Taktsang perched on the edge of a 1,200 meter cliff, it creats an impressive signature sight of Bhutan. Save enough energy before heading to Paro as it usually require 2-3 hours walking up-hill to reach Taktsang.
Punakha: Capital of Bhutan until 1955, it is located at 1,200m above sea level and rice is grown as the main crop along Pho Chu and Mo Chu, two main rivers of Bhutan. It is the home of Punakha Dzong, one of the main attractions of Bhutan, built in 1638, was once the winter home of Bhutan's Central Monastic Body.
